Monday. Monday. Monday
I am currently packing and preparing to return to collegetown.
I am hanging out with my family and enjoying my last few moments
with them. I am nervous about my senior year. I am excited, nervous,
and scared! I am thrilled to be a senior and am excited to just get out!
I love college but am ready to do my job. So now I have to take test
after test and get ready for the work world...eek!
I'll be back, in school, on Monday & can't wait to share with you!
Have a great weekend!!!

I've realized that...
* allergy-free cooking ROCKS!
* being the oldest sibling is sometimes difficult.
* summer is going way too fast.
* I still love taking pictures and am not always the fastest at posting them.
* there are (sometimes) not enough hours in the day.
* I can plan but reality then hits.
* I like being in shorts & a t-shirt!
* it's okay not to be perfect.
I've realized that it is good to be home!

Heck of a week
My dad's computer tech guy completely took apart EVERY piece to try to fix the switch...but had no luck. SO after four hours today, I made a quick run to Best Buy for an USB Netgear antennae and I now have internet...it is a REALLY good thing people. Sure I could have used the desktop at home, but I have all of my blogs on my computer just a click away. So the light on the switch may be off-orange instead of blue...but my USB antennae is working GREAT :) Let me keep it this way and I will be as happy as a clam ;)
I made it through
I am very crabby tonight and just have no desire to do anything but sit, blog, and read. I think I deserve it ;)
Many tears were shed and over the past month, many nights of sleep lost, but getting through this semester has shown me I can get through anything that is THROWN my way!
Oh and I had toe surgery, on both feet on Wednesday! What the heck was I thinking?!?!
On a home note, my brother and I share a bathroom and have our own sinks. When we got back from Houston on Friday after Thanksgiving, our flood...carpet was completely soaked. Now that the water had finally dried, dad said tonight "it will all have to come out since there is mold." WELL ain't that grand?!?!
Thank YOU for the love, hugs, and encouragement through this semester. YOUR kind words mean so much!

Alarming night...
The funny thing is that the alarm company never ever called. I truly believe there was a kink in their system, plus the power going off and on, & it was just my luck to be home, with the dogs, and the alarms going off.
Around 5:45ish...everything calmed down, I had one dog in my lap on the recliner and another right beside me. We finally went back to sleep and woke up at 8:30. Then I made a super-sonic dash out the door for church. It was just an alarming night and I have no idea why the alarms went off in the first place. Sure the power went off, but the alarms...no clue what's up with that?!?!

All things are possible
But I have to remember that God does has a plan for me and the little things that make up my life may or may not do anything to my future goal. In my heart, I know that Stellan will be just fine. Once the RSV is contained and eliminated...he will just fine. Prayers do make a difference as well. My uncle had a very good life and was very sick for a very long time. Prayers helped me be able to grieve and accept the fact that he is gone, but his legacy will prevail in the future. He will be missed, yes, but he will be remembered for the great man that he was.
The neighbors...well, God will see them eventually and hopefully they will clean up their act...hopefully. I also head home tomorrow and will sleep in my own bed, in my own room, and have no neighbors who make my walls vibrate. I loved my experience at the conference, but am SO ready to go home. I am ready to see my family and am ready to sleep more than four hours consecutively...silent hooray! I am also ready to just be HOME :)
***************************************************
Home is where my heart will always be...not trying to be too corny :) Home is where I can get more than four hours of sleep, mourn, and live my life. Home is what I L-O-V-E! Today I bought a magnet that states "Go confidently in the direction of your dreams! Live your life you've imagined" (Thoreau.) I have loved being home...but I also love to live life...hour by hour...day by day and it is so WORTH IT!!!

Wordful Wednesday
I have been ordered to come home and see one of my sister's games as she marches. C plays the clarinet and has for 7 years. She is amazing and a wonderful section, senior leader this year. I actually use my press pass for my college paper to get on the field and snap a few pictures of her. I usually get the comment of not another one; but when she is moving and playing, I find it hard to snap these action photos since her band is full of 250 people. Usually every time I try she is on the field and I loose her so this is a picture to celebrate! See ya soon C and hope that I can get a few more of you :)
Angie @ Seven Circus Clowns thought of this post and it is awesome. Click on over to her blog to check out more Wordful posts :)

Coming home soon...
So I told my dad that I was coming home and he said that he would have to check his "schedule." I totally laughed at him. Who does he think he is talking to? His oldest baby who he has not seen in 2.5 months. My mom told me that he wanted to know when I would be at XXXX Lane and so I told him I would be on XXXX Lane on October 31.
My dad is so sweet and caring to me. We have a very special relationship that I have always cherished. He is one of my biggest supporters and I love him dearly!!!! In the picture is my little (not any more) sister and dad. Best picture I could find at this moment.

Fantastic Friday
As for other news, my grandparents were evacuated late last night to DFW. My dad went and got them and took them to our house. Now my home in DFW is full. There are three kids from Scotland there (sister went this summer and now they came), my sister's friend who is staying with us for a few days while her mom is at a funeral, and the rest of my family. Mom asked if I could come home this weekend and there is no possible way! Then she just said to call her a few times! I agreed!!!
As for rain here, we are getting a break today, but then Saturday through next week it is back again. Ike is coming full force and looks like it will hit Houston. Keep the people that are in its path in your thoughts and prayers.
Hope you all enjoy your weekend and have a relaxing one at that. I know I need one, but I have LOTS to do, so all I can do is try.

Home is where the HEART is...
I am almost done unpacking, but am now struggling to go to sleep. I thought I would get a good night's sleep since I am in my nice, comfy bed. I am tired and need sleep. My plan is to sleep in the morning, but we shall see how that goes. I am so glad that I am home though!! So glad that it is summer!!! It seems early though.
Part 3: Thoughts of my last week as a college freshman
Speaking of classes-There are some days when I still feel like I am in High School with all the immaturity, but there are others when I am glad I have left HS. Some days are better than others. But for one thing-some "kids" still need to grow up and mature a little. One thing that gets me is when kids pay hundreds of dollars for a class and rarely show up! Come on-just go to class. They signed up for it, so it is their deal I guess, but really!
I am wondering where my first year has gone? Any ideas? It just flew by without me knowing it. So as of tomorrow, I will officially be a college sophomore-WOW! I will have 39 hours starting next fall and I am just impressed! I am not trying to brag, but geting up to this point is amazing! Being out sick this semester for 30 days and still doing so well in college amazes me. Some ask me how I do it and I study every day. I also study on the weekends too. What a studying life!
So as for plans-my plan is to sleep in tomorrow morning and then go from there! Hope everyone has had a good week!

Sunday post...oh boy
It is Sunday and the weather is nasty outside. What happened to the 80+ degree weather? I have no idea. As of right now, it is 50 degrees and drizzling. What a change! Enough about the weather!
I loved being home this weekend. On Friday night, my family and I went to by uncle's 50th birthday party, then went for a church picture. What an evening. Then on Saturday, dad grilled burgers, I made a spice cake (w/o soy, wheat, gluten, or nuts)! It was so good. The whole family devoured it. Now I know it is a keeper. Dad also made chicken and green beans for dinner. They were both so good!!! Then I got back to Abilene about 11ish, but was not tired at all. So I stayed up really late, then we had a leak in our room. It was just an eventful night after all.
This morning, I went to church, worked at church, visited some friends, and am now back in the dorm. I am VERY tired and did not get much sleep last night, so I am hoping to be in bed by 10ish tonight.
This week should be eventful since I have finals the next week (May 5-8), so I hope I can just keep up and not get that stressed. A girl can only dream!! Now I have homework to do and just made some fresh coffee to keep me company, so I am off.
Hope everyone has a great Sunday! Remember to relax! I think I need to take my own advice. Oh well!
PS- thanks to all of you who leave me messages. They really keep me going! :)

Hotness and mosquitoes all in the same week
In other news, I have exactly 2 weeks until I go home. This means that finals are around the corner! oh boy. The craziness will set in now. I am so glad that this semester is almost over, but where did the time go? One minute I am a new student and the next, I am a sophomore. Oh my. I can not believe how fast time flies.
So this next week and the next will be crazy but it is so worth it. I am one year closer to my goal of being an EC-4, Special Ed teacher. YAY! So yes I will be crazy busy, but I promise to update the blog when I can. I promise!
Also-the weekend is near and I am so glad. I need a break!

First semester almost over...
College, what more is there to say? Learning is a way of life around HSU and being stressed is also included in college. I cannot believe that this semester has gone by so quickly. I mean, I know that it has been a long time for my family back in DFW, but it really feels like time is just slipping away.
Everyone told me to enjoy college while it lasts because it goes so fast, but I did not realize that it goes so fast. I am taking finals and in college as I type. It is a bit scary that like slips by so fast. But I am prepared for the challenge. I have been raised so well and I have my family, i.e. parents, to thank for that. So THANKS Mom and Dad! I really appreciate what you have done for me.
Although I like college, I am so ready to be home. But it is strange: being in a bigger bed, smaller door handles, and more space-not like a dorm atmosphere. It takes a little getting used to, but I will have 31 days off of college to get used to it. I am so ready for a break. I am so ready not to have a million things to do every day.
Yes- I love tutoring, being on the Brand, working, and school life, but it is, so, time for a break. I am ready to have quality family time and to enjoy home for a while. I am also ready to experience something new. So-in 6 days, my new experience will begin-home for the holidays!!!
