Today is a new day
and I'll treat it like my last! I plan to stay out of the heat and temps well over 100*. I plan to prop my feet up and breathe in and out! I plan to blog because it makes me happy. I plan to watch a movie just because I feel like it. I plan to move forward and not backwards. I plan to love on my awesome family and accept the fact that God has a plan! I plan to be in awe of what is laid in front of me!

Sunday Sweetness
Waking up and the sun not blaring in my eyes
Hearing the birds chirp this morning
Knowing my parents would call as soon as they got into cell range
Talking to my dad and mom
Hearing laughter and stories from this weekend
Watching movies uninterrupted
Smelling the smells of baked sweet potatoes
Taking a much needed nap
Enjoying today as it was oh so relaxing!

So MUCH to say
Okay, okay...I have so MUCH to say! So I thought I would just start and see where the wind takes me. Okay...so here we go...
** Tomorrow...I have TWO MAJOR presentations that I have to give. EEK...both in one day and then a MAJOR test to study for the next. But, for some reason, I am at peace. I am not stressing as much as I usually do and feel pretty prepared for this challenge. My presentations are at 9am and at 1pm. If you get a few moments...could you just give me wisdom and perseverance tomorrow?! I would really appreciate it!
** Even though this weekend was C-R-A-Z-Y...I feel ready for the coming week. Once Monday & Tuesday are over...the rest of the week WILL be smooth sailing :)
** It has been raining since WEDNESDAY! I LOVE the rain when I can stay home...but when I have to walk across campus and through puddles and get wet by being splashed...I dislike the rain. But I know the rain is good for the earth...so I will buck it up and just be wet for a little while longer.
** I went to a Dyslexia conference on Saturday and LOVED hearing Dr. Reid Lyon speak. He was extremely inspiring and presented some amazing information. It made my Saturday & weekend.
** There are so many people who are hurting and needing prayers. If you have a prayer request and would like me to pray for you...please let me know. I have started a prayer journal and put your specific requests in it. No one but me and HIM sees what I write and I have found this journal helpful in many ways. HE hears every single prayer!!!
** I LOVE the show ARMY WIVES & am excited to see it each week. It is seriously one of my favorite shows and it kind of tops the weekend too :)
** Oh and an interesting/funny thought for the night: I take 3 showers on M-W-F. I workout in the am, then have aquacise, and then take one in the evening. Just wanted to give you a little laugh for the night :o Oh and the fact that I am super clean these three days helps too!
Hope you had a fantastic weekend!!!

Baby Picture Sunday
BoufMom9 hosts Baby Picture Sunday and I thought I would play along :) I do not have any kiddos of my own, but do babysit!
This week's theme is: Snuggle Bugs. I am supposed to figure out what this means to me and post a picture. Here are a few little bugs who love to snuggle and look so cute. On the top is T, who was 4 at the time and J (bottom) was almost 2.
They are still SO cute and J still loves to cuddle, even at 3!! Do you have a snuggle bug who steals your heart each time? Share it through BoufMom9 and also let me know too!

Sunday Sermon
This morning while contemplating church, I remember that my favorite pastor, Dr. Cindy Ryan, was preaching, so I got out of bed and went to church before Sunday School. My church is doing a series for Advent and this Sunday's sermon was titled "Worship Fully." Basically it was about not overbooking yourself during this time of year and actually subtracting something from your busy lifestyle. She specifically told the women that she knows that we carry some of the burden with family in town, meals, kids, and ect... She stated that a few years ago she came to the realization that people actually become a list making machine and that life is more than just lists.
I have come to the conclusion that this year, I will make my best effort to say the magic word "no" a little more and actually enjoy this time of the year. Granted, life may push through this plan a little, but in reality, I can make my own schedule and include a little less during this season. During this season, I plan to actually enjoy the days coming and going. The week may drag a little, but enjoying those around you is actually a good thing-most of the time.
Have a wonderful afternoon!!!!

Sweet people...
Each day I "visit" blogs and leave comments. No, I do not know most of these people in real life but some of their stories are amazing and so sweet. Usually I get a comment from them and it just makes my day. Below are a few sweet people that I try to comment on. These are not all the people I "visit" daily, but I thought I would give a shout out to these sweet people.
Suz @ Steece's Pieces (Quads)
Jen @ Murray crew (Quad boys)

Think about this...
I got an email that had a few sayings in it. I liked this one the best: "Life is a drawing without an eraser." What do you think? I have never really thought about life this way, but it is so true!
Life is all around
Life happens in a blink of an eye
Life surprises me daily
Life can not be taken back
Life is so worth it
Life is a drawing without an eraser
Life is all around
Life happens in a blink of an eye
Life surprises me daily
Life can not be taken back
Life is so worth it
Life is a drawing without an eraser

Homework and Iced tea
If you know me in real life, then you know that I love iced tea. Lately I have not been able to get enough of it. I love having it with lunch or at dinner. I also like it in the afternoon too. It is something that makes me feel good and has zero, yes zero, calories. So on this Sunday afternoon, I made my own Iced tea and am sipping on it while doing homework. The taste and feeling that I get while drinking it puts me at peace and calms me.
As for the homework, I am getting REALLY tired of having to do homework of all hours of the day. For the past three, yes three, weekends I have been filled and flooded with the stuff. It is not fun at all. I am hoping that next weekend is not as bad. I get really of tired of having to write till the hand hurts. Hopefully this week will not be filled with hand hurting days. A girl can dream, right?
So I hope all of you have a blessed and relaxed Sunday afternoon. Wish I could say that I would be doing more than homework, but I can not.
** This is not my new blog, I just update the picture**
Have a great week!!!!

Crockpots and homework
I got a cookbook a little while back called Once a Month Cooking and love the recipes in it. Today I thought I would give one a shot. So yesterday while at Walmart, which I can not stand on the weekends especially, I bought a Crock pot. Today before I left for church I put on the Winter Pot Roast and at around 12:15 when I walked in the door it smelled GREAT. I could not wait until I could taste it and let me tell ya now. It was FABULOUS!!!! I modified it a bit and put some potatoes in it rather than having them on the side. I have to give this recipe an A+ and will definitely prepare this again. I was a bit skeptical with the Crock Pot, but it came through for me and I am very impressed!
As for homework, I am working on taking notes for 30+ pages of reading and it is taking me FOREVER!!! I am literally spending bits and pieces of my weekend doing this, since I have a quiz on Monday. I also have another quiz on Monday in the same class. Yippee-not for me. Other than that I have some reading to attend to and so after this post, I am shutting down the computer so I will not get distracted. I usually do not procrastinate, but today and with the nice, cooler weather outside, something has overcome me. So yes, I still have lots to do in a little over three hours, but I can do it. I also have to visit my school library right at 7:30am in the morning before my class at 8, so it will start busy as well.
Can not believe the weekend went by so fast and tomorrow is Monday!!!

Sunday ramblings...
Not much going on today. It was my grandmother's birthday, so we ate at MAC'S. The food was yummy. Before that, I served as an Offertory usher and Communion server. Once we got back home, the family and I started to complete the details for our vacation. Which by the way, I am so excited to get away from Texas for a few days. Then I spent the day reading, blogging, and watching movies-some Lifetime, some not. Channel surfing was today's choice as well.
I have been VERY tired today and my only guess why is because I have been going to bed later and still getting up early, so I will try going to bed earlier and seeing if that works.
Hope everyone had a great weekend!!! A new week starts today!!!

Sunday post...oh boy
Hello fellow bloggers~
It is Sunday and the weather is nasty outside. What happened to the 80+ degree weather? I have no idea. As of right now, it is 50 degrees and drizzling. What a change! Enough about the weather!
I loved being home this weekend. On Friday night, my family and I went to by uncle's 50th birthday party, then went for a church picture. What an evening. Then on Saturday, dad grilled burgers, I made a spice cake (w/o soy, wheat, gluten, or nuts)! It was so good. The whole family devoured it. Now I know it is a keeper. Dad also made chicken and green beans for dinner. They were both so good!!! Then I got back to Abilene about 11ish, but was not tired at all. So I stayed up really late, then we had a leak in our room. It was just an eventful night after all.
This morning, I went to church, worked at church, visited some friends, and am now back in the dorm. I am VERY tired and did not get much sleep last night, so I am hoping to be in bed by 10ish tonight.
This week should be eventful since I have finals the next week (May 5-8), so I hope I can just keep up and not get that stressed. A girl can only dream!! Now I have homework to do and just made some fresh coffee to keep me company, so I am off.
Hope everyone has a great Sunday! Remember to relax! I think I need to take my own advice. Oh well!
PS- thanks to all of you who leave me messages. They really keep me going! :)
