Being spontaneous

I've noticed a trend lately, I seem to become a debby downer by the end of the week since school/life seems to speed up and get rough. Yes I still blog, but actually have had no motivation to post lately. I am tired and wiped when I get home, so imagine trying to do homework, laundry, cleaning, cooking, checking emails, and blogging while sleepy. Mind you, I did not sleep well at all last night because I decided to change my dull weekend this weekend.

This weekend, my friend and I are driving to Lampasas and being spontaneous. We both have a required event on Saturday morning, but around 2ish tomorrow, we are hitting the road. Destination: no phone service, no Internet, just peace and quiet plus being able to see my mom, dad, brother, brother's friend, sister, and sister's friend as a plus.

My dad and his company have several hundred acres of land (where they hunt as well) and everyone is heading up there this weekend. They are already there and looking forward to my friend's and mine's arrival. I am hoping it is just a 2.5-3 hour drive. My friend will be my direction helper since I have never gone from collegetown to Lampasas before. Yes I have been from my house, but it is different...me driving and no parents to direct. So if you think of me tomorrow, pray for safe travel and direction. I have an idea and map to where I am going, but it is just different w/o the parentals there.

Dad and I had a conversation last night too and he asked why I was driving 3 hours there for just about 20 hours, then driving back and starting another week off. My words exactly..."I need a vacation and this is the only one I can get for another month." I need this little retreat. Yes, it's only for a couple of hours, but it is something. He may not understand, but I am so excited for this. I promise to take LOTS of pictures and relax just a wee bit.

As for the homework front, I am taking some with me and am hoping to type up stuff that is due Monday. Oh and did I forget to mention that I am teaching 15 home school kiddos PE for 45 minutes Monday...well I am. So I am hoping to get my lesson plans and activities done ASAP too.

Hope you all have a great weekend. Relax a little and enjoy time off :) I will be back on Monday to do the Not Me Monday and do I have LOTS to report too. Enjoy the sweet weekend folks!!!

Have a wonderful weekend!!!!

Sweet and Sour update from MIA

This morning started of bright and early at 4:30 am (EST). We packed, cleaned up a bit, then got ready to hit the road. I got some awesome pictures this morning and I will post them when I get home. I am currently sitting in the airport waiting for my plane. We had a 4 hour layover today, so I have time to write. I was VERY EXCITED that MIA airport has free Wi-fi. I am a dork, I know.

So anyways, after we left our rental home, we were on our way to the airport. Dad told me to turn the AC down since it was blowing straight on him. I reached for what I thought was the AC control and was stunned at what I did. I actually cut my middle three fingers on the AC vent that WAS NOT COVERED. I thought it was the controls. It was NOT. So the morning started with bloody skin. My brother thought it was hilarious that I could not feel my middle finger on my right, dominate hand. I still can not feel it. Anyways, I have a nice sized cut on my middle finger on the nail area and skin loss on my ring and pointer fingers. My ring finger nail is a bit messed up too. What a great way to start off the morning.

The flight from our vacation spot to MIA airport was bittersweet as well. I sat next to a CUTE one year old which made my day, but there was two, two year old twins on my flight who SCREAMED for an hour before landing. The mom and dad were not together so this screaming two year old girl went back and forth between mom and dad. I was a few rows ahead of them so I did suffer as much. I felt SO SORRY for the people close to the screaming lungs. Once we landed, she finally stopped screaming. A relief was in sight!!!

After the first trip, we headed to get something to eat. The only thing I could have was fruit and I was FINE with that. My brother did tell me all that was in his lovely pizza that I could not eat though-sweet, I know. Then we hung out a bit and now are waiting for our 2:45pm (EST) flight to DFW now.

Life is pretty good right now. I am in the airport with my family and my middle finger still has no feeling. But I am hoping once I get home it will.

I will post pictures as soon as I can!!!

Have a great Friday afternoon!!!

Last day in Paradise

So today is officially the last day of vacation. The whole family leaves for the airport tomorrow at 6:30am. Looking back on our vacation, I would have to say that it has been great.

Top 10 favorites include:
* Snorkeling
* Swimming in the crystal blue ocean
* Eating dinner out at good restaurants
* Family movie nights after dinner
* Cheeseburgers poolside
* Having down time on vacation
* No set schedule (freedom)
* Getting a really good tan (I BURN first, then tan! Oh well)
* Trips to town with mom and dad
* Eating the last bites of ice cream for breakfast today (vanilla by the way)

So as vacation is coming to an end, I must say that it was well worth it! Reality begins early on Saturday morning though. At least Friday will be somewhat relaxing.

Have a great Thursday night!!!

Cheeseburgers in Paradise

Not much to report today. We swam, we ate, and we saw the sights. As for the title, today's lunch was cheeseburgers poolside, so I thought it was appropriate. Nothing much happened today. I did create a new drink. Since I do not like the taste of alcohol, I mixed 1/2 OJ and 1/2 Sparkling Cider (Apple) together. It was so good and addicting. I even got my brother hooked on the Sparkling Cider part.

Onto the subject of me not posting any pictures. I accidentally left my computer hookup at home. So you all will have to wait until late Friday night or Saturday morning. My bet is on Friday night ;) I will try to keep the anticipation to a minimum.

Hope you had a great day!!!

Look on the bright side

So this morning we, as in the whole family, were supposed to leave our rental home to hit the marina at 8am. Well that hit the fan when the car would not start. Dad thinks it was the starter and not the transmission. So we try to call the car rental place and they are still closed, so we call the captain of the boat, Leonard. He comes around and tries to jump the car, but no go. The car would not jump. So Leonard calls his cousin, who drives a van (taxi) and he gives us a lift to the marina.

Then at the marina, we all climb into the boat and meet Alex, who is Leonard's helper. So we start off sightseeing then Leonard shows the family Bruce Willis' home on Parakee island. It was HUGE!!! Then we tootle, yes I said tootle around and sight see. Lots of sights were seen. Then we have round one of snorkeling. Boy, the ocean is turquoise and beautiful!!! So we looked at the reefs, saw LOTS of fish, and just swam around.

Then we saw some more sights and then took a break for lunch. Leonard pulled the boat up to the beach and we unloaded the full cooler and lunch fixings! We ate at a public, outdoor community center and it was cool. The water used to clean off the sand smelled of sulphur though.

After lunch we headed back to snorkel some more. This time it was calmer and more relaxing. The tides just float below you. Again, saw LOTS of fish and this time I saw a orange sea snake. How did I know it was a snake? It had eyes looking at me. It left me alone though!

After a snorkel, we headed back onto the boat and went to a beach to collect shells. Boy did I bake in the boat since I did not go look for shells. Oh well! After that, we tootled around and I drove the boat back to the beach that is about 150feet from the rental home. We again unloaded everything, hoisted it back home, then took a swim.

So as for today's festivities, they all went well! Everyone is a bit brighter this afternoon than this morning, but that is life!!

Have a great Tuesday!!!

Just a few things...

Ok, so I thought I would think about just a few things on this post. First and foremost, how clean does one really feel after they shower and look nice, the spray OFF on from head to toe? Not so clean, huh! That is the way I feel tonight. Oh well!!!

Also-why were mosquitoes invented? Seriously. They make people miserable! Today was not as bad but a girl can be curious!!!

It is hot and muggy, but it is not as bad as Texas heat, so I can not complain. As far as today, it went well and I am looking forward to tomorrow morning with a boat ride included!!! So I hope all of you are staying cool!!!

Hope ya had a great Monday!!!

Lazy Sunday...

OK, so there is not much to report today. It rained, it is humid, and the mosquitoes are biting good. We all have bites/polka dots all over us and YES we used OFF. Most of us spent the morning at the beach, swam in the pool during the afternoon, ate lunched then just chilled.

Usually I can not nap, but when the rain came it kind of lulled me to sleep from four to six today. It was GREAT!!! I would love to be able to have a nap daily-just a dream of mine. Now I know why adults want to take naps. Kids, one day you will like taking naps!

So it was a pretty relaxed day, not much to say, and not much going on. Hope ya'll had a great weekend. Have a GREAT week!!

Have a great evening!!!

Shocking...

Gas prices here go by the liter. A liter is around $5.75, so that make a gallon around $20.00. I thought our gas prices were bad ;)

Also, you know the big shell you listen to and hear the ocean, well there is actually an animal that lives inside of it. The animal is called a CONCH!

Have a great Saturday!!!

Mission Accomplished!!!!

Finally done with finals!!! YAY!! I do not believe that I could have handled anymore stress. It really does take a toll on everyone. Being tired is just not my cup of tea. So now I can move onto more important things, such as:
* Working tonight
* Breathing
* Packing
* Cleaning room and bathroom
* Selling back my textbooks
* Sitting and having a cup of coffee without being rushed
* Getting ready to go home-back to DFW for 31 days to be exact!!!

Going home- I am so ready!!! I love college and all, but being away from everyone is hard.

Tomorrow at 1:30, me and two other girls (who I am taking to the airport & one who lives with family-30 minutes away) will be on the road and so ready to be on a well-deserved vacation. No school for 31 days!!! Oh- I will love all of the time off!!! I need a vacation!!!

I hope all of you are doing well and have a great week!!!
