Staycation bliss

Spring break, for my family, usually means a trip out of town. This year, however, we decided to stay home and are actually enjoying it.

It's nice to wake up and lounge.

It's nice to not have to rush to get on the road.

It's nice to be able to organize and sort out things without worrying about being late.

It's nice to not have to worry about homework and lesson plans this week.

It's nice to not have any scheduled meetings for school this week.

It's nice to have time to organize.

It's nice to just be home and not in a rush. The alarm clock may still go off, either by a dog or electronically, but it's just nice to be home and not in a rush.

For this week, I'm letting loose and trying to chill a little. For Miss type A, that's hard. ;) But I'm happy to give it a shot.

Invasion of Spring

Spring is here and I love the flowers and birds chirping. But many people are already having many problems with:
* Fire ants-some around here in Abilene are 1cm long and huge. It is time for people to put poison on there fire ant beds and hopefully they will go away soon. Some of my friend's kids have gotten bitten and they are miserable. No one likes this kind of pain.

* Allergies-yes these are year round, but many people suffer more in the spring because of the pollen. Trees, flowers, and grass are blooming so many allergies are in full bloom :(

* Wasps/bees-they have arrived and they will not leave till it gets cold. Oh boy. Protect yourselves and make sure there are no hives outside of your doors. Been there and done that so hopefully this tip will help.

So yes, spring is in full bloom, but I ask you to all be careful and hope that fire ants, allergies, and bugs do not invade you and your springtime fun.

Spring Break begins

So I just wanted to update and say that I am on Spring Break this week. My dad had a conference in Carlsbad, CA, so the family all came down to have a relaxing couple of days. I am loving the weather here. The high today is 65, yes, the wind is gusting, but it is so nice!!! Today, we are going sight seeing and just hanging out.

Just wanted to update and I will post more when I get home!

I needed this break! I am just relaxed and not worrying about school. I do have some stuff to do, but I will do that this coming weekend and the Monday after Easter, since I do not have school!
