Stream of Consciousness

#SOCsunday
Where did the weekend go? I have not had a good, fun weekend in a while. It was nice to meet friends for lunch, go to a baby shower, talk about life, and be encouraged by a friend. Truth be told, I have been down lately. You see, Texas is cutting their education budget my millions. Teachers are being laid off and doom is around. I get tired of being told "oh you won't have a job" in the fall or "you know budgets are being cut" all week long. Thank you, people for the news flash but please stop shoving it down my throat. I get that it is bad but I am hearing it at school, from my homefront, and with friends. It gets exhausting and, kind of, drowning to hear it daily.

Don't get me wrong, I realize it is a BIG deal. BUT when your superintendent, principal, teacher, and teachers around you talk about it daily, it gets old. I realize there will be competition and doom, but please remember that we are all human and we do get overwhelmed with a lot of bad information.

On Saturday night, I watched Fireproof and Facing the Giants. They were both on television. I had never seen Fireproof before and was glad I watched it. I ended up having a good cry, for both movies, and was really encouraged by a friend. It was something I needed and had success with. Debi truly rocks my world and we "watched" Facing the Giants together via twitter comments. It was like she was right there holding my hand and crying with me. It was much needed.

Movie Morning

This morning, the family and I skipped church and slept in! GASP! Anyhoo, I watched While you were Sleeping in bed this morning and then during/after breakfast caught A Knight's Tale and Armageddon! It was very relaxing and MUCH needed.

While packing for Collegetown, I also saw some of My Big Fat Greek Wedding. I LOVE movies and these four are some of my favorites. More movies favorites will be revealed soon :o

An idea for the weekend...

My plan for today and the weekend is to get ALL my homework done by tonight and just study for quizzes and midterms over the weekend. I am doing this to allow myself to have a little "me" time this weekend! I need it. Even though it is Homecoming weekend and I am already exhausted; movies may be the best bet. I also have to catch up on Grey's Anatomy online, since I have not seen any of the new season. What a concept that life goes on without Grey's!!!

Hope your Friday is relaxed and great!!! Life may be tough some of the time but it is so worth living!!!

Have a great Friday!!!

A day at the movies...

Today has been a really lazy day. Clearing and cleaning out lead to many movies being watched in the background of the day. Life felt REALLY slow today as I have been TIRED all day long. My Nonni suggested that it could be the heat and I could not agree more.

Here are a few movies I have watched today:

So today has been a very lazy day, but I love being able to do this every once in a while!!!

Have a great evening!!!

Update

Sorry my fellow bloggers, I have been in bed for what seems to be eternity, but only 6 days battling a sinus infection, ear infection, fever, nausea, and a massive headache. What a way to spend my Christmas vacation. But while being sick is no fun, I got to catch up on the movies I have yet to see. Some of the movies include:
* Dreamer
* Flicka
* Music and Lyrics
* Underclassmen
* Jump In
* Deck the Halls

There were also some movies on that I have seen, but got to watch a few times as well, such as:
* Christmas with the Kranks
* RV
* National Lampoon's Holiday
* The Christmas Story
* Drumline

Then there were some TV shows that I got to watch over and over when I could either not sleep or just felt crummy, such as:
* George Lopez
* Home Improvement
* Fresh Prince of Bellaire
* ER
* Grey's Anatomy

I know, I know, it seems that all I did was watch TV, but when one feels like a truck has run over them, it is all that one can do. Oh yes, I also drank lots of water, OJ, tea, and took LOTS of Tylenol.

I did not expect to be sick over break, but at least I was not at school.
My mom stayed home with me this weekend as the rest of the family went on a hunting trip (I do not hunt), but my little brother got his first deer, a nine point, and my sister got one as well. I finally think that my 12 year old brother is finally getting into the hunting spirit.

So as far as Christmas was concerned, it was great. I got gift cards, a family tea set from my Nonni (mom's mom), a Vera Bradley purse (Grandma), a Visa gift card (uncle and aunt), a massage (gift card), coffee maker for dorm, and a few other gifts. I was really impressed and it seemed that my family loved all the gifts that they received. It was a very happy Christmas this year and I am so glad that I have my family there along side me.

As for New Years plans-my sister is having some people over and I am probably going to babysit. We have family coming into town for New Years as well and it shall be fun!!!

So to all of my fellow bloggers: HAPPY NEW YEARS to you!!!
