Movie Morning

This morning, the family and I skipped church and slept in! GASP! Anyhoo, I watched While you were Sleeping in bed this morning and then during/after breakfast caught A Knight's Tale and Armageddon! It was very relaxing and MUCH needed.

While packing for Collegetown, I also saw some of My Big Fat Greek Wedding. I LOVE movies and these four are some of my favorites. More movies favorites will be revealed soon :o

Wakey, Wakey...

Mr. Smarty pants thought it would be funny to wake his older sister up this morning. It started at 6:50am, "Wakey, Wakey Elyse...time to get up." I told him ever so nicely to go away and leave me alone. I did not have to get up early this morning. Then at 7am, he comes in, pats me on the head and states "Wakey, Wakey Elyse...time to get up, everyone else is up." Not so nicely I told him to go away and leave me alone. Then at 7:10am, he comes back and says "ELYSE, wake up...get up RIGHT NOW...I am not kidding this time...everyone else is awake." What do I do? Laugh at Mr. Wakeup Man and tell him to leave me alone. I may be taking him to Dallas tomorrow morning, but not this morning.

Mr. Smarty pants thinks this whole senario was hilarious too. What a 13 year old brother does! Gotta love him...payback is now in the planning stages ;) Even though he drives me nuts sometimes, he is my FAVORITE boy and I am VERY Thankful for him :)

Happy Thursday!!!!

Monday, Monday

So I have never had four comments on one post before so when I looked this morning, I had four on my Sunday post. I was elated. THANK YOU!!! You made my Monday morning worthwhile!

So as for this morning, I am not as tired and am heading out to go to two orientations for my American Literature and American Government classes. Then tonight I am volunteering at a local "hot spot" that I have been going to for the last six years! I work with teens and community service instead of ticket fines. It is fun and I have a blast.

Have a great Monday!!!

Thursday Ramblings...

This morning started with a storm that lasted for about three hours-now the sun is just starting to peek through the sky! My brother's football camp was delayed due to the torrential rains, thunder, and lightening. Dogs were shaking, house was shaking, and ground was flooding!!!

Migraine headache was in full swing and coffee was my savior this am. Still have the minor migraine and sinus headache combined, but it is better!! Right now, I am on my second cup and I am in heaven, still have a headache, but no where near as bad!!!

On another note, I have a million things to do today!!! The Internet decided to be silly and flake out this am, which is NOT good because I am taking an online class. So the afternoon will be filled with work, work, work! Plus, I have a test tomorrow that I need to prepare for. What my luck! Parents are out of town today for a funeral in Monroe, LA. So brother and I will have fun without today. Grocery shopping needs to be done (one of my favorite jobs-I know-weird), lunch/dinner need to be made, laundry needs doing, and homework/test prep needs doing!

SO I hope you all are doing well and hopefully not as busy!!!

Have a great Thursday!!!

Get Ready to Rock and Roll...

Good morning, its 7:30 and I am quite happy this morning. Only 5 more weeks till I am home!!! I technically only have four weeks, three days of finals, and one day of traveling. Then I start a mini-mester back home the next day. Does that sound like fun or what? Oh well, I hope everyone starts the week of right and has a great week. Remember summer is just around the corner!!!

Have a great week!!!

So little time, so much to do

GOOD MORNING fellow bloggers! I seem to be in a great mood this morning, don't know why though! Time is going so fast. One minute it was August, and the next it is April. I can not believe how much time flies. With work, school, homework, volunteering, and everything else I do, time must have just slipped away from me.

I have one quality in myself that I know I must change. I have trouble saying "no" to people. I may be simple to some, but for me, it is SO not. I will say yes to any extra assignment, paper, or article (for the newspaper). I know its okay to say yes to things, but when I do not have time to write an extra article or two, it all adds up. So my goal is to evaluate my work load and then see if I can do something extra. Will I always do this, NO, but it is a goal that I will work for.

In other news, the mosquitoes have arrived to Abilene. I am a witness to that! Some do not get eaten alive, but I do! Oh Well! Allergy season is also here and it is rampid to everyone.

The reason I do not wear heels: I have a size 15 in ladies and it is hard to find them. So when I do, I do not wear them a lot because one, I am already 6 feet, and two because I really do not know how to walk in them. Case in point, I had to give a presentation yesterday, so I wore them. In about two hours, I received 4 blisters. One on the left and three on the right. Ouch! I will wear hills occasionally and for special events, but for now, I will stick with tennis shoes and socks!

Hope everyone is having a good week! The weekend is near!

Middle of the week post

This morning something unusual occurred, I woke up at 6am. Yes I needed to use the restroom, but the funny thing was I could not go back to sleep. I just laid in my bed thinking about what I had to do today and also updated my cell phone calender. I set alarms and everything. When my roommate's' alarm went off this morning, I was so ready to roll. Made the bed, had a banana, then checked email. I was so ready to roll.

Had breakfast at 8ish, then went to class. Then it hit me about 9:30. I started to get really tired. So I have to attribute this to not getting enough sleep last night. I am really trying to get at least 8 hours of sleep, but stuff happens and sometimes I do not. SO oh well!!!

Anything new going on? Well not really. I am back into my groove and loving being on my own. I can not believe that I have about 6 weeks left of this semester. I go home on May 8th, then start a local college course on the 9th-crazy I know.

My brother's troop master for the whole troop was killed in a car accident on 3-22-08. I ask you to pray for the family, who have two sons. This is a very difficult time and I can not imagine loosing one of my parents right now.

On the upside, I am very happy right now. Yes there is lots to do, but for some reason I am in an awesome mood!!

Have a wonderful week!
