A valuable lesson I will always remember

My dad has worked in construction and management for over 25 years. When my sister and I first learned how to drive, he told us one thing to NEVER EVER do to large trucks, 18 wheelers, and concrete trucks. My dad's words were "never, ever cut off a large truck. They can't stop fast enough." I've seen horrific accidents and tragedies because some genius decided to cut off a large truck.

This morning, while driving back to College town, I saw many people cut it close and one person cut off a large truck. My rule of thumb: whenever passing or merging into a lane with the large truck-always, always, ALWAYS give at least two to three car lengths between you and the truck. If you can't have two to three "cars" between you, then be sure that the truck driver sees you before you get in that lane.

This method has helped me in Downtown Dallas, Downtown Fort Worth, small towns, bumper to bumper traffic, and I am accident free.

Rule of thumb: Never cut off a large truck!!

It's the little things I'll remember

I will remember a few things that happened tonight and thought I would share.

I will remember:
* my family actually liking an allergy-free recipe that I made and raving about it.
* how the Cowboys beat the Eagles and are now up against the Vikings next week.
* how my family likes to compare who is "cuter" on the Cowboys team.
* my dad giving up HIS recliner for me to use :)
* the unusually COLD weather we are having this year.
* brother trying to explain how an Xbox game works and still not be able to play.
* dad telling sister to hush during the game.
* how the dog crosses her legs like an X while sitting.
* how much I love and adore my family while I spend time at home with them!

It's the CHRISTmas season...

It is so easy to forget what CHRISTmas is truly about with all the hustle and bustle to prepare that perfect night and day the media raves about. What person does not want that money or toys? But remember our Savior, Jesus Christ who died for our sins, and who was born in a manger on Christmas. Some may say that HE was not born on Christmas or HE is not real...but this is not what I am talking about. I am talking about worshipping HIM who was born in a manger on that cold eve. I am talking about Mary, his earthly mother birthing the son of God, I am talking about the three Wise Men who followed the Star to the manger. Jesus did not choose where HE was born nor did HE choose his earthly parents...GOD, our Heavenly Father chose Mary and Joseph as HIS worldly parents. HE (GOD) chose those three wise men for a reason and HE (GOD) chose life of JESUS.

GOD chose you and me to be born on this earth and I am truly thankful. I am very thankful for JESUS and all that HE did for me. REMEMBER CHRIST during the CHRISTmas this year. Wishing you and your family a very Merry CHRISTmas season and holiday. Enjoy your preparations for the day of CHRIST and enjoy your sweet family and friends. HE will see you through! Merry Christmas to YOU!!!!

Don't you know you are beautiful...

Kelly Pickler has a song titled "Don't you know you are beautiful" and I thought it was appropriate for this post. Everyday is not the same and life sometimes throws curve balls. One day I could dress up and look pretty and other days I thrown on shorts and put my hair up in the car. I know we ALL have those days where we do not feel beautiful and I wanted to let you know that none of you are alone.

Yesterday was my day. I overslept because I took a very nice muscle relaxer. I have 15 minutes till class started at 8 am. I threw on jeans, a t-shirt, a jacket, and did my hair in the car. While I was driving to school, this song came on the radio. I had to stop for a moment and think about this song. It is so true. So what if I did not feel beautiful, I knew in my heart that God knew in HIS mind that I was truly beautiful.

Here is the chorus of her song:
Don't you know you're beautiful...
Don't you know you're beautiful...
Don't you know you're beautiful...
Just the way you are

This is so true! Sometimes we may not feel beautiful by the way we look or feel, but remember that HE made you beautiful; therefore you will always be beautiful. Even when you just wake up or have a tough day, you are beautiful!!!

Have a wonderful weekend!!!!

Good morning, its 7:30 and I am quite happy this morning. Only 5 more weeks till I am home!!! I technically only have four weeks, three days of finals, and one day of traveling. Then I start a mini-mester back home the next day. Does that sound like fun or what? Oh well, I hope everyone starts the week of right and has a great week.
