Wishing, hoping, & praying for that perfect job

To say that I was disappointed when I didn't get my first teaching job out of college, last May, is an understatement. But, I moved on and have been subbing and acting as an Interventionist/Tutor for a local school for the past few months. I had my eyes opened when I started my current position in January. From the stories to the situations to the challenges, my life has changed for the better. I had no idea that what I didn't know would change so quickly.

I had my first interview, for next year, with my current school a week from this past Thursday. No specifics on the grade but I am hopeful. I have another interview, with a different district, on Monday with Special Services (Special Ed). I am excited and nervous but hopeful I will acquire a full time position for next year soon.

While my *dream* job is Special Education; I'd love to gain experience in any classroom right now. I can't be picky; I just want a job right now. ;) I have fallen in love with elementary, middle, and high school positions. I never thought in a million years that I would teach high school. But, my perspective has changed. Currently, I tutor and mentor high school students twice a week. Their stories as well as elementary stories have impacted me.

Whatever I teach, I will give it my all. Wherever I teach, I will give it my all.

For now, I will wish, hope, and pray that I am able to show my all in my interview so that I am able to give it my all next year.

Nationally Changing

Today, America will swear in the 44th President of the United States. Aside from my/your beliefs, this day will go down in history. One because Obama is the 44th President and two because he is black...as the first black President. I wish his presidency well and I will continue to pray for our nation as the change occurs.

If you have reservations about this presidency, pray. If you don't like a decision that will be made in the future, pray! All, I can do as a Christian, is pray and that is what I intend to do!

Happy Inauguration Day

Middle of the week post

This morning something unusual occurred, I woke up at 6am. Yes I needed to use the restroom, but the funny thing was I could not go back to sleep. I just laid in my bed thinking about what I had to do today and also updated my cell phone calender. I set alarms and everything. When my roommate's' alarm went off this morning, I was so ready to roll. Made the bed, had a banana, then checked email. I was so ready to roll.

Had breakfast at 8ish, then went to class. Then it hit me about 9:30. I started to get really tired. So I have to attribute this to not getting enough sleep last night. I am really trying to get at least 8 hours of sleep, but stuff happens and sometimes I do not. SO oh well!!!

Anything new going on? Well not really. I am back into my groove and loving being on my own. I can not believe that I have about 6 weeks left of this semester. I go home on May 8th, then start a local college course on the 9th-crazy I know.

My brother's troop master for the whole troop was killed in a car accident on 3-22-08. I ask you to pray for the family, who have two sons. This is a very difficult time and I can not imagine loosing one of my parents right now.

On the upside, I am very happy right now. Yes there is lots to do, but for some reason I am in an awesome mood!!

Have a wonderful week!
