It's time for him to come home

My brother has been on a Boy Scout adventure since last Tuesday.

It's time for him to come home!

I miss the boy like crazy.

It's time for him to come home!

It's so strange that he's not here.

It's time for him to come home.

His smell, the good one, is not around/lingering in the room these days.

It's time for him to come home.

Now I got a glimpse of what he got when I went to college.

It's time for him to come home!!

Finally time to catch-up

Okay sweet peeps! After my internet has been fixed, clothes have been washed, and work has been done...I FINALLY have time to catch up with the internet world and I LOVE it! You see...after work and school, on regular days, I am WIPED! But now...I have time :) Oh and that makes my day!!!

This weekend, though, thinks it will outsmart me! Parents' are going to a Christmas party for dad's boss and brother & I are going the babysit(me) and hang (him) with a guy's kiddos, one who has cerebral palsy. I am actually REALLY looking forward to this. Sure "special" kiddos have my heart...but they also teach me something every time and I can.not.wait! This family has had a tough time with the older son's care and the people he is seen by. So I volunteered to hang instead of being paid and I think it made their day. I have no problem not being paid but the expression that I got from this family is unreal. I will blog about it tomorrow or Monday on how the evening went :)

Tomorrow...I am greeting/teaching/ushering at church in the morning and afternoon and I would not have it any.other.way! I LOVE FUMC Grapevine and consider it/them my family! I can't wait for tomorrow!

Hope you are having a wonderful weekend and are staying warm!

Happy Saturday!!!

Time

Time...you know the thing you want more of?! Well...I really would like more hours in the day right now. I am barely holding my head above water and this weekend's homework forecast looks dreadful. I wish I had time to get what I want to get done...but alas, I don't. So I am sorry for not blogging as much lately...but quite frankly, by the time I get home, workout & shower, I crash. So sweet bloggers, I will blog when able, but just so you know, I am under many time deadlines right now and will be sporadic for the next few days.

Today I braved "Bold in the Cold"

Baby...it was cold outside with the winds going 30+ miles an hour and being by the lake. Even though my bed was tempting this morning, I braved the cold and fast walked the Bold in the Cold.

Let me tell ya that my nice family did not do this with me, no most of them were in bed and I was thankful. Why you ask? Because this was my goal and I needed to do this myself. I started of great, but those uphill battles were interesting. With the winds and the cold, it was BITTERLY cold and I sure did feel it during that first mile since my hands were numb. But after that, I was just fine. The race started at 8am and I was in my car driving away by 9am. My time was 40 minutes. Not my best, but with the cold and wind, I finished and I was NOT the last one...which I was afraid of...thank goodness!

So thanks for the well wishes, it was DEFINITELY worth it and was so much fun considering the weather. To reward myself, I got a large cup of Starbucks coffee and loved it. My family was a little surprised that I was done so early, but I am so glad that it is over with.

Have a wonderful Saturday

100th post

I can not believe that I have been blogging for 100 posts! Where did the time go? One of my bloggers asked me where June went and I said "it snuck out the back door." Time is going by so fast. I can not believe that I am a "sophomore in college." EEK!!! I can not believe how time seems to warp and speed up. Life as I know it is going VERY FAST and I have to jump on the bandwagon and go along for the ride.

It is so wild that I have lived through so much! It is so wild that life goes by so fast. It is so cool that the people I am encouraged by are online!!! THANK YOU!!! This blogging business has allowed me to vent and be encouraged. Life may be going fast, but I am so up for the ride.

Have an awesome Monday!!!

A little message

So its Saturday night and I just got back into town. Life as I know it will be very busy for the next 4 weeks. I have three weeks left of college for this semester and I have one week of finals. So I will just be swamped. I know on Monday, I am supposed to plan my schedule for next semester. So tomorrow, I have to choose my classes so I have something to take to my advisor. It is going to be interesting.

Sorry I have not blogged in a couple of day. I was home on Friday afternoon for my brother's 13th birthday and literally just arrived in Abilene 15 minutes ago. I thought I would just leave a little message saying that my life is very busy right now! I can not believe how time flies. I thought this semester would be slow, but I only have 4 weeks left.

Where does time go? I can not believe that I will be a sophomore in college in 4 weeks!! Oh my goodness.

Well I hope everyone has a GREAT Sunday!!!

Remember: Time flies!

So little time, so much to do

GOOD MORNING fellow bloggers! I seem to be in a great mood this morning, don't know why though! Time is going so fast. One minute it was August, and the next it is April. I can not believe how much time flies. With work, school, homework, volunteering, and everything else I do, time must have just slipped away from me.

I have one quality in myself that I know I must change. I have trouble saying "no" to people. I may be simple to some, but for me, it is SO not. I will say yes to any extra assignment, paper, or article (for the newspaper). I know its okay to say yes to things, but when I do not have time to write an extra article or two, it all adds up. So my goal is to evaluate my work load and then see if I can do something extra. Will I always do this, NO, but it is a goal that I will work for.

In other news, the mosquitoes have arrived to Abilene. I am a witness to that! Some do not get eaten alive, but I do! Oh Well! Allergy season is also here and it is rampid to everyone.

The reason I do not wear heels: I have a size 15 in ladies and it is hard to find them. So when I do, I do not wear them a lot because one, I am already 6 feet, and two because I really do not know how to walk in them. Case in point, I had to give a presentation yesterday, so I wore them. In about two hours, I received 4 blisters. One on the left and three on the right. Ouch! I will wear hills occasionally and for special events, but for now, I will stick with tennis shoes and socks!

Hope everyone is having a good week! The weekend is near!
