Finally time to catch-up
This weekend, though, thinks it will outsmart me! Parents' are going to a Christmas party for dad's boss and brother & I are going the babysit(me) and hang (him) with a guy's kiddos, one who has cerebral palsy. I am actually REALLY looking forward to this. Sure "special" kiddos have my heart...but they also teach me something every time and I can.not.wait! This family has had a tough time with the older son's care and the people he is seen by. So I volunteered to hang instead of being paid and I think it made their day. I have no problem not being paid but the expression that I got from this family is unreal. I will blog about it tomorrow or Monday on how the evening went :)
Tomorrow...I am greeting/teaching/ushering at church in the morning and afternoon and I would not have it any.other.way! I LOVE FUMC Grapevine and consider it/them my family! I can't wait for tomorrow!
Hope you are having a wonderful weekend and are staying warm!

Today I braved "Bold in the Cold"
Let me tell ya that my nice family did not do this with me, no most of them were in bed and I was thankful. Why you ask? Because this was my goal and I needed to do this myself. I started of great, but those uphill battles were interesting. With the winds and the cold, it was BITTERLY cold and I sure did feel it during that first mile since my hands were numb. But after that, I was just fine. The race started at 8am and I was in my car driving away by 9am. My time was 40 minutes. Not my best, but with the cold and wind, I finished and I was NOT the last one...which I was afraid of...thank goodness!
So thanks for the well wishes, it was DEFINITELY worth it and was so much fun considering the weather. To reward myself, I got a large cup of Starbucks coffee and loved it. My family was a little surprised that I was done so early, but I am so glad that it is over with.
Have a wonderful Saturday

100th post
It is so wild that I have lived through so much! It is so wild that life goes by so fast. It is so cool that the people I am encouraged by are online!!! THANK YOU!!! This blogging business has allowed me to vent and be encouraged. Life may be going fast, but I am so up for the ride.

A little message
Sorry I have not blogged in a couple of day. I was home on Friday afternoon for my brother's 13th birthday and literally just arrived in Abilene 15 minutes ago. I thought I would just leave a little message saying that my life is very busy right now! I can not believe how time flies. I thought this semester would be slow, but I only have 4 weeks left.
Where does time go? I can not believe that I will be a sophomore in college in 4 weeks!! Oh my goodness.
Well I hope everyone has a GREAT Sunday!!!
Remember: Time flies!

So little time, so much to do
I have one quality in myself that I know I must change. I have trouble saying "no" to people. I may be simple to some, but for me, it is SO not. I will say yes to any extra assignment, paper, or article (for the newspaper). I know its okay to say yes to things, but when I do not have time to write an extra article or two, it all adds up. So my goal is to evaluate my work load and then see if I can do something extra. Will I always do this, NO, but it is a goal that I will work for.
In other news, the mosquitoes have arrived to Abilene. I am a witness to that! Some do not get eaten alive, but I do! Oh Well! Allergy season is also here and it is rampid to everyone.
The reason I do not wear heels: I have a size 15 in ladies and it is hard to find them. So when I do, I do not wear them a lot because one, I am already 6 feet, and two because I really do not know how to walk in them. Case in point, I had to give a presentation yesterday, so I wore them. In about two hours, I received 4 blisters. One on the left and three on the right. Ouch! I will wear hills occasionally and for special events, but for now, I will stick with tennis shoes and socks!
Hope everyone is having a good week! The weekend is near!
