Change of pace

I attend college in a small town (compared to DFW) & it's a nice change of pace. Most of the time, gentlemen hold the door for women, people wave to each other while driving, people tell you to have a nice day, and (most of the time) people smile at you. It is a much slower pace than the big city and I love it. It is a nice change of pace that I will miss when I graduate in May.

Thought you would enjoy a sweet (and small town) pup!

A country called America

Sorry I did not post yesterday *coughTobicough.* Life is sure speeding up and my stress level is a tad high right now. I have had one of those weeks were everything and everyday runs together and on top of allergies and stress, this week has not been so great. I just found out that I have three tests next week AND three projects DUE next week too. So this is why my stress level is high right now.

But I wanted to post about America now that we have a new president coming into his reigns in January. That is right, Bush is still in charge until the beginning of the year. What a concept!!! I will not say who I voted for but do have some ideas about America. The President can not just snap his fingers and things will be changed.

No, it is a process and approval must be granted. Also we have to remember that this man who is the first African American may not be your choice, but if he can help America out so be it. America is struggling right now as a nation financially, militarily, and socially (health care included). We may or may not see changes...but give the system a chance. That is right...America is like a system that changes constantly. I know that after the election, gas went up 10 cents.

I have also had some friends/classmates receive some VERY inappropriate text messages that were racially biased. These girls did not even know the people sending these. I am saddened by the words some people say. Think about this: Is it Christian to be mean to others? Is it Christian to not do the right thing? My rule right now for myself is to not judge this new person, but to wait and see what happens.

One thing I have a hard time with is change. I do not like it at all. I have trouble when times change, classes change, people change from being nice, surroundings change, and everything in between. I know that change is inevitable, but still it is hard. I know that America will see some changes that they may or may not like, but try to adjust. Adjust in your own way and look to HIM for guidance. HE is the one who is looking out for the world HE created and HE will see us through!!!

Jeremiah 29:11 states "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD,"plans to prosper and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Have a little FAITH and allow HIM to work in our lives.

Have a wonderful afternoon!!!!

September 11th

Today marks the seventh year of the remembrance of 9-11-01. I thought I would share my deepest sympathies to the families and remember those who died seven years ago today! Today would have just been another day, but no. The world changed seven years ago today when the towers fell and the Pentagon was attacked. No one expected this mass killing to happen, it just did. This was the "Day the world changed" and the world cried together. My heart goes out to those who lost one and all the men and women who helped on this day.

No matter what public party or belief you had on this day; the world cried together. Each person in the United States was effected by the horrific string of events. I believe that God cried when this happened. Some may say that the government did not do a good job at protecting this country, but all I have to say is hush. This country tries its best to protect its citizens and there is no need for criticism. Look at everything that happened after this mass string of events. Look at what all has been accomplished. Life is unpredictable and the United States suffered many loses.

Just say a little prayer today for everyone who was effected by this horrific string of events first hand. Even though I was not personally effected, my heart still aches today.

Remember those today!!!!

So little time, so much to do

GOOD MORNING fellow bloggers! I seem to be in a great mood this morning, don't know why though! Time is going so fast. One minute it was August, and the next it is April. I can not believe how much time flies. With work, school, homework, volunteering, and everything else I do, time must have just slipped away from me.

I have one quality in myself that I know I must change. I have trouble saying "no" to people. I may be simple to some, but for me, it is SO not. I will say yes to any extra assignment, paper, or article (for the newspaper). I know its okay to say yes to things, but when I do not have time to write an extra article or two, it all adds up. So my goal is to evaluate my work load and then see if I can do something extra. Will I always do this, NO, but it is a goal that I will work for.

In other news, the mosquitoes have arrived to Abilene. I am a witness to that! Some do not get eaten alive, but I do! Oh Well! Allergy season is also here and it is rampid to everyone.

The reason I do not wear heels: I have a size 15 in ladies and it is hard to find them. So when I do, I do not wear them a lot because one, I am already 6 feet, and two because I really do not know how to walk in them. Case in point, I had to give a presentation yesterday, so I wore them. In about two hours, I received 4 blisters. One on the left and three on the right. Ouch! I will wear hills occasionally and for special events, but for now, I will stick with tennis shoes and socks!

Hope everyone is having a good week! The weekend is near!
