I have to get up how early?

Yesterday, my mom, sister, and dad went out of town at 6:30am.

Today I had to get up at 4AM for the boy above, my brother, so that I could drop him off at the drop off for camp. He is a boy scout and this week, Troop 28, will be headed to Colorado. YES I am SO jealous that he will have cooler weather but I hope he has fun. Oh and just for the record, we got to the drop off at 5AM, he helped others load the bus, and the bus rolled outta the parking lot at 6:30. It was interesting to see him interact with others while I stood back. He is gone for a week and I am happy for him.

Oh and in case your wondering, I have the house to myself until Wednesday morning. Dad is OOT until late, late Tuesday night, brother on Saturday, and my mom/sister come back June 28. What am I going to do with myself?!?! ;)

I may have gotten up WAY too early but I saw a beautiful sunrise that made up for it! Oh and a cup of coffee too.

Have a great Saturday!!!

Finally time to catch-up

Okay sweet peeps! After my internet has been fixed, clothes have been washed, and work has been done...I FINALLY have time to catch up with the internet world and I LOVE it! You see...after work and school, on regular days, I am WIPED! But now...I have time :) Oh and that makes my day!!!

This weekend, though, thinks it will outsmart me! Parents' are going to a Christmas party for dad's boss and brother & I are going the babysit(me) and hang (him) with a guy's kiddos, one who has cerebral palsy. I am actually REALLY looking forward to this. Sure "special" kiddos have my heart...but they also teach me something every time and I can.not.wait! This family has had a tough time with the older son's care and the people he is seen by. So I volunteered to hang instead of being paid and I think it made their day. I have no problem not being paid but the expression that I got from this family is unreal. I will blog about it tomorrow or Monday on how the evening went :)

Tomorrow...I am greeting/teaching/ushering at church in the morning and afternoon and I would not have it any.other.way! I LOVE FUMC Grapevine and consider it/them my family! I can't wait for tomorrow!

Hope you are having a wonderful weekend and are staying warm!

Happy Saturday!!!

The Shred...day 5

That's right...day FIVE of the Shred is COMPLETE...YAHOO!!!

This morning was the first morning that I was not completely dreading moving my legs since they DID NOT hurt. You heard me right...for the first day my legs did not screech in pain when I moved them :) Amanda told me they would not hurt as bad after a few days and at first I was skeptical, but I give major thanks to her for letting me know "the truth."

Have a super splendid Saturday with your family and friends!!!!

Today I braved "Bold in the Cold"

Baby...it was cold outside with the winds going 30+ miles an hour and being by the lake. Even though my bed was tempting this morning, I braved the cold and fast walked the Bold in the Cold.

Let me tell ya that my nice family did not do this with me, no most of them were in bed and I was thankful. Why you ask? Because this was my goal and I needed to do this myself. I started of great, but those uphill battles were interesting. With the winds and the cold, it was BITTERLY cold and I sure did feel it during that first mile since my hands were numb. But after that, I was just fine. The race started at 8am and I was in my car driving away by 9am. My time was 40 minutes. Not my best, but with the cold and wind, I finished and I was NOT the last one...which I was afraid of...thank goodness!

So thanks for the well wishes, it was DEFINITELY worth it and was so much fun considering the weather. To reward myself, I got a large cup of Starbucks coffee and loved it. My family was a little surprised that I was done so early, but I am so glad that it is over with.

Have a wonderful Saturday

Don't you know you are beautiful...

Kelly Pickler has a song titled "Don't you know you are beautiful" and I thought it was appropriate for this post. Everyday is not the same and life sometimes throws curve balls. One day I could dress up and look pretty and other days I thrown on shorts and put my hair up in the car. I know we ALL have those days where we do not feel beautiful and I wanted to let you know that none of you are alone.

Yesterday was my day. I overslept because I took a very nice muscle relaxer. I have 15 minutes till class started at 8 am. I threw on jeans, a t-shirt, a jacket, and did my hair in the car. While I was driving to school, this song came on the radio. I had to stop for a moment and think about this song. It is so true. So what if I did not feel beautiful, I knew in my heart that God knew in HIS mind that I was truly beautiful.

Here is the chorus of her song:
Don't you know you're beautiful...
Don't you know you're beautiful...
Don't you know you're beautiful...
Just the way you are

This is so true! Sometimes we may not feel beautiful by the way we look or feel, but remember that HE made you beautiful; therefore you will always be beautiful. Even when you just wake up or have a tough day, you are beautiful!!!

Have a wonderful weekend!!!!

Lord PREPARE me...

I believe that I have a very good relationship with God and LOVE him with my whole heart. Even though there are some days when I mess up, he is still there. He is there when I have hurt feelings, He is there when I am sad, and He is there to congratulate me on something big. He is my ultimate supporter and one who listens to everything. I am so very glad that He is in my life.

I know everyone has those glazed over days where nothing seems to go right. I also know that He is there right by my side. I have learned to love the Lord with all my heart and mind and sometimes forget how truly powerful He is.

There are days when I just want to throw in the towel and give up, but He supports me and waits for me to finish my task. Even though I DO NOT want to do all of my homework and cook and clean this weekend, I know that He will see me through. There are times that I forget how big and mighty He is...then he reminds me.

Life is full of adventure, triumph, and struggles, but with HIM by my side everything is possible. Lord PREPARE me for my future and allow me to find your path for me!!! Everyday, I learn something NEW through HIM and I am so very grateful for all that He has given me.

Have a wonderful Saturday evening!!!

A day at the movies...

Today has been a really lazy day. Clearing and cleaning out lead to many movies being watched in the background of the day. Life felt REALLY slow today as I have been TIRED all day long. My Nonni suggested that it could be the heat and I could not agree more.

Here are a few movies I have watched today:

So today has been a very lazy day, but I love being able to do this every once in a while!!!

Have a great evening!!!

All American Family

This weekend is full of one thing and one thing only: family! I love all of my family dearly, but this is like a mini-family reunion. Yesterday, my cousin graduated college and will attend Texas ATM university. The graduation party was at my grandparents home in Houston after. From about 7pm till 12:30am, there were all sorts of people in the house. I actually surprised myself and was up for the entire time! WOW!!! Then I just could not go to sleep for the life of me-oh well. I can catch up on my blogging at 2am.

Seeing lots of my family has been great and full of LOTS of laughter. I promise to post pictures soon and some may be before Monday. But when a gal is trying to hang with family, do an online summer school course, and entertain, time gets away from you. I enjoyed the graduation party so much and seeing everyone really brings back memories;). There was sure lots of laughter in our household on Friday night!

Tonight, we have a wedding to go to. It will be a late night! The wedding does not start until 6:30pm. So-my night owl side that is rarely shown will be out tonight! I will post more about the family Saturday later.

Have a great Saturday!!!
