Hope everyone is having a great weekend! I would like to get your insight on something. I am in the process of gathering items and a few things for the MckFamily as I type this. What do you give while a mother is in the hospital with her sweet son while dad/family/friends man the fort back at home with three other little ones? I am creating a little bag for each child as well and also trying to pick up a few odds and ends when I see something appealing.
A few things I have already gotten:
** Subway card
** Snacks for MckMama and family...trail mix, nuts, choc chip cookies (since she likes them)
** Bags for all four kiddos
I want to make an impact for this family since MckMama has already done so for me. Any ideas are greatly appreciated :)

Gas station gift card!
I comment replied on my blog about my height, but I'm 5-9. And I second the gas card! That was our biggest expense (besides the hospital bill, of course) while we were enduring our long stay!
You are so thoughtful and sweet and although I am at a loss for anything at the moment, I am sure all that you give will be greatly appreciated. Especially since it will be sent with love...

I think a box of crayons and a coloring book for each of the kids would be nice.

These are all good ideas. My family has spent A LOT of time in the hospital over the years and what always helped the most was food or gas gift cards. At least for us--we always have to spend a lot of money on fast food. It really adds up quickly. You're so sweet to think of this awesome family during this time!

I second the food/gas gift cards idea; when we've had extended hospital stays for various family members, that was the biggest thing for us. Snack foods that she can have at the hospital are also a great idea. Maybe some CDs or something new for her to listen to while she's there.
