Pandora online radio rocks

Today, as I sit at my computer and breathe, I will admit that I have a large love for Pandora online radio.

It's free, you can create your own stations, and it is easy to sign into. Not only am I still listening to my country Christmas station (since I love Christmas), I can also add songs to the stations I've created.

Since I sign in, the stations I create are saved. You have the option of a thumbs up or down per song. If you give the song a thumbs down, it will move on to another song and not play that particular song again. There are very few commercials and it's easy to use.

Sure it's easy to say there are I-tunes but I don't ride that bandwagon. I love Pandora and always will. Easily accessible and free! There's even a FREE I-phone app that is used daily.

Can't beat that...Pandora rocks!!

A find I had to share

It's 4am and I am awake...lovely!
Tuesdays, on top of no sleep...lovely!

But I found a website to brighten your day. It is full of {for the most part} inspirational/moving songs that get you to rock out on the computer. HERE is the link. I was pretty impressed with several of the songs.

These are two of my favorite songs!!!

Have a fantastic Tuesday!!!

Barney is a dinosaur...

So while I am on the topic of music, I thought I would post a little about Barney. My sister and I both love Barney when we were growing up, her especially. She knew EXACTLY when it was on. So Barney has a special place in my heart.

Well today as I was babysitting, the 16 month old and I danced to a Barney tape. It was full of music and got her to calm down for nap. The funny thing is that I remembered all the Barney songs-weird, I know.

My brother never got on the Barney bandwagon, but he like other cartoons and children's programs. He LOVED Rugrats and Power Rangers.

Some of the children's tv programs that I have learned to love are: Franklin, Rugrats, Sesame Street, Arthur (really good), Magic School Bus, Dora/Diego, Blues Clues, and lots more. I babysit a bunch, so after an over and over show, I kind of get into it. I really believe that children's shows teach a lot of good values and morals, but I also believe that we, as adults, SHOULD NOT plop a kid in front of the tv all day. Children at a very young age need limits and starting young is not bad at all.

So I hope all of you are having a GREAT Friday!! Have a great weekend!!

Glad it is Friday!!!!

Put a little rhythm to it...

Songs are usually my best friends. When I am cleaning or needing to remember something, I put rhythm to it. So if I need to remember my 7's multiplication tables, I start singing to the tune of Happy Birthday-7, 14, 21, 28, 35, 42, 49, 56, 63, and 70. It works for me and I learned this easy trick in 4th grade.

Another way I use music is to entertain a 16 month old while her mom is gone. Coming up with silly songs keeps her and I very happy. An example would be making clapping noises to a song beat. Everything right now makes her smile, so Old MacDonald and I am a C-h-r-i-s-t-i-a-n work wonders. Barney songs are pulled if nothing else works :)

How did I get on this topic today? I am in an Music for elementary teachers class this semester and we do lots of little kid songs and motions. This class is perfect since I love learning and putting a little tune to things. So I thought I would share.

Have a great day and put a little tune in somewhere!!
