Definitely a glimpse into the future...

Yesterday I babysat. Not a shocker since I LOVE kiddos and babysitting. Well with the weather being VERY COLD and the kiddos not being able to go outside...my adventure began after the mom left and the kiddos finished their Hot cocoa. All you moms can now know I have a new understanding about kiddos and appreciate ALL that you do :)

FIRST we played in the playroom, then did puzzles, then played, and the cycle repeated. Mind you that I had one three year old, two five year olds (one friend over), and one six year old. About 10:45, I started the mac'n'cheese and chicken nuggets for lunch. The kiddos ALL wanted chips, so they stayed ever so nicely in one area and DESTROYED the chips to the floor. I don't mean a few crumbs here and there, I mean EVERYWHERE.

Lunch was served...no ketchup in sight. The kiddos settled down for five minutes...what a sight. Then shouts came from kids who sneezed...I want a new plate now was the consensus from thee. Then the "he hit me or NOOOO" came roaring from lunch...lunch was over and the kiddos were VERY hyper. I am not saying talking...I mean running laps around the house and knocking off Christmas ornaments kind of hyper. It was time to bundle up for the VERY COLD weather and take the kiddos out side to run and play. I froze, they wore out, and the outside saved the house from destruction.

The nap for the 3 year old was calling him name and I wished that I could just lay down too. But oh no...I had three more kiddos to entertain. We plugged in a movie and had our quiet time to say. One five year old's mother appeared and he was gone...now I am left with a five and a six year old. We changed the movie to "Air bud" and made popcorn for two. Then the house got SILENT for a few minutes too. The kiddos watched the movie while I vacuumed with glee (NOT), cleaned the kitchen, playroom, and put all the ornaments back on the tree.

So to say I learned something is an understatement. God LOVES mothers and I wanted to say THANK YOU for all that you do. To answer your question...I still want kiddos...but right now, I'll stick with working with them :) This was definitely a glimpse into the future.

Have a great day!!!!
