Barney is a dinosaur...

So while I am on the topic of music, I thought I would post a little about Barney. My sister and I both love Barney when we were growing up, her especially. She knew EXACTLY when it was on. So Barney has a special place in my heart.

Well today as I was babysitting, the 16 month old and I danced to a Barney tape. It was full of music and got her to calm down for nap. The funny thing is that I remembered all the Barney songs-weird, I know.

My brother never got on the Barney bandwagon, but he like other cartoons and children's programs. He LOVED Rugrats and Power Rangers.

Some of the children's tv programs that I have learned to love are: Franklin, Rugrats, Sesame Street, Arthur (really good), Magic School Bus, Dora/Diego, Blues Clues, and lots more. I babysit a bunch, so after an over and over show, I kind of get into it. I really believe that children's shows teach a lot of good values and morals, but I also believe that we, as adults, SHOULD NOT plop a kid in front of the tv all day. Children at a very young age need limits and starting young is not bad at all.

So I hope all of you are having a GREAT Friday!! Have a great weekend!!

Glad it is Friday!!!!

my boys LOVE elmo...they adore him and cookie monster. I totally agree some tv every once in awhile is not bad. but it should def. not be a babysitter for your kids.

have a great weekend sweetie...are you feeling any better?

My oldest LOVED Maggie and the Ferocious Beast.....it is such a great show about friendship and being kind to one another....there are a lot of great shows out there.....it's the finding them that can be tricky! :)

We've never been much into Barney around here, but my kids are just getting to that age where they're interested in the cartoons my husband and I watched as kids. He-Man and Transformers (the original) and Thundercats...It's funny to look back on those old episodes now through an adults eyes. (They really were sort of cheesy) But it's fun to see the boys get excited about it!
